Wow, what a gorgeous, springtime afternoon on the Trinity! High temperatures peaked in the upper 60s this afternoon, reaching 69 degrees. Although this is abnormally warm for February, it is not a record high temperature…the current record is 74 degrees set in 1938.
This evening will remain warm with low temperatures in the 60s until around 8 p.m. We will reach the 50s overnight, staying well above normal for February in the Triad. We'll wake up in the 50s on Sunday morning.
Rain will continue to move into the Trinity heading into the evening hours with scattered showers Saturday evening and more widespread showers early Sunday morning. Rain will continue through most of Sunday morning but by Sunday afternoon, rain chances will decrease with scattered showers possible in the evening. If you have any plans for the big game, the good news is that the rain will clear by early afternoon. Temperatures will reach the low 60s Sunday afternoon.
Rain returns Sunday night into Monday with a better chance of rain in the southern Piedmont Triad. Rain chances return for the entire Triad by midday Monday. Chance of rain is 80%. Temperatures are expected to reach the upper 40s Monday morning, with a high into the mid-50s Monday afternoon.
Rain continues overnight Monday into early Tuesday morning, but sunshine dominates most of Tuesday. Temperatures will be in the mid 40s with highs in the mid 50s.
Sunshine will dominate Wednesday with morning temperatures near freezing with highs in the mid 50s. A similar day awaits us on Thursday with morning temperatures in the mid 30s and highs in the upper 50s.
Some clouds will return on Friday with temperatures reaching the upper 30s and lower 50s. By Saturday, a low chance of rain returns to the forecast with morning temperatures in the lower 40s and highs in the lower 50s.
