Jimmystar is set to face his toughest test at Flemington

All-Star Mile wildcard Jimmysstar will be tested in stakes grade for the first time on Saturday.

Trainer Kieron Maher, fresh from a Caulfield hat-trick on Saturday, has nominated Jimstar for the Elms Handicap (1400m) at Flemington.

The former New Zealand sprinter Jimmysstar has won five of six starts, four in a row in Victoria, including a dominant success in the 84th standard at Caulfield last Saturday.

Jimmysstar's rapid rise has opened the door for another Will, a lightly raced progressive four-year-old, to progress through the standard grades.

Another Will raced quickly at Caulfield on Saturday, moving clear to win the BM70 over 1600m by 3½ lengths with his ears pricked.

“I haven't dissected the race at all, but he still does little things wrong,” Maher said of another Will before Yonsei and Estrella saluted in their races.

“He pulled forward, took a while to get back, sped up, (and) swayed around the corner.

“A bit like Jimmy…try to mark the grades, hopefully.”

Maher has Group 1 winners King Colorado and Bella Nebotina also entered in the races on Saturday.

King Colorado will contest the Group 3 CS Hayes Stakes – a precursor to the Australian Guineas – while Bella Nipotina will look to race in the Group 1 Black Caviar Lightning Stakes.

“Flemington should be perfect (for King Colorado),” Maher said.

“He would love it, you would think he would be better there and hopefully he will play for the (Australian) Guineas.”

Colorado King finished strongly to finish second in the Group 3 Manfred Stakes debut at Caulfield last month.
