We're proud to present the first episode of Eurozine's new weekly talk show, Standard Time. The opening discussion addresses societal pressures, especially on women, in relation to youth and the often unrealistic standards society sets. Marleen Wynants joins online from the Netherlands. She is the director of Crosstalks, and guest editor of the Flemish magazine Respectively: verse. She co-coordinated the 99th edition dedicated to aging. Her latest book has received much attention for its thoughtful analysis of aging and its impact on society.
Fiona Ruprecht is a gerontologist from the University of Vienna. Dr. Ruprecht's work focuses on the science behind aging, providing valuable insights into the biological and psychological aspects of this inevitable process.
Zofia Lorand is a historian of ideas and frequent author of Eurozine, which offers a fresh perspective on the societal norms of the era.
