Highlighting education
BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – Brevard Public Schools students shined at the 35th Annual Future Teachers of Florida Conference in Orlando.
Florida Future Educators of America is a pre-college and college teacher recruitment program.
The program provides a forum for students to learn about career opportunities in education and fosters their interest in teaching as a career. It also provides a means for college members to stay informed of the latest issues and developments in the teaching profession.
While attending the conference, students had the opportunity to meet fellow students, class advisors, and teachers as well as participate in various competitions.
These competitions included a class showcase, where classes created a display to showcase the class mission and activities; Educational research, where classes developed a PowerPoint presentation to present information highlighting the importance of early learning; Within our schools, where classes filmed a video to highlight a school program that best demonstrated their school spirit; Public Speaking, where classes consist of a speech about an academic challenge they faced, overcame and subsequently succeeded in; and Student Lesson Plan, where classes planned and delivered a lesson in either English Language Arts or Math using best standards.
