Newt Gingrich joined Sean Hannity on Friday following the release of Special Counsel Robert Hoare's report on Thursday.
Robert Hoare included in the report several offensive references to Biden personally, describing him as a “well-meaning old man” who has trouble remembering things. This included an event that deeply wounded the president: the 2015 death of his son Beau.
Hoare pardoned Joe Biden because he took classified documents and stored them in numerous locations – a criminal act for anyone who is not the President of the United States. Former President Donald Trump was charged on much lesser charges.
Newt Gingrich: Well, I think the very clear language and very clear examples in the special report put on the table a very direct challenge. This is not about politics. It is about the survival of the United States. You have to worry about North Korea, Taiwan, Iran, the entire Middle East, and Ukraine. And now we're being told that we have a president based on the Justice Department report who doesn't understand it anymore. So, at a minimum, I think Congress should require cognitive testing to be conducted by outside sources. And if it is, in fact, as bad as Special Counsel Hoare said, then I think they should invoke the 25th Amendment.
As much as I strongly disagree with Kamala Harris, she is at least rational, I think, and probably less of a danger to the country than Joe Biden who doesn't know what's going on. Remember, he is literally the one who can start a nuclear war or the one who can avoid a nuclear war by doing the right things. All we see is that he is not there. So, you don't know which staff member is making the decision, but Joe Biden clearly isn't.
And I think after yesterday, my opinion was completely changed because of that report, and I urge every American to read the key parts of that report, because it is so bad and so clear that you cannot allow this man to be Commander-in-Chief, not as a political decision, but as a national matter. .
The report indicates that Biden suffers from significant limitations in his memory when he was dealing with his ghostwriter in 2017 and with the interviews he conducted with her office in October of last year. They said that Biden does not remember the years when he was vice president.
