Former Obama adviser David Axelrod responded to Biden's outrageous rhetoric this week, saying it reinforces the idea that Biden is too old to be president. Axelrod has been voicing concerns about Biden for months, angering some leftists in the process.
According to him, one of the worst things in politics is a moment like this that confirms a meme about you, in Biden's case, that he is weak and no longer has what it takes to run the country.
Axelrod made the comments during an appearance on CNN.

David Axelrod warns Biden presser 'reinforces meme' that president is too old: 'He can't ring a bell'
Former Obama adviser and CNN senior political analyst David Axelrod recently claimed that President Biden's “angry” press conference in response to special counsel Robert Hoare's report on him “reinforces the idea that the president is old.”
Axelrod told CNN anchor Anderson Cooper that the president's defiant response Thursday night to Hoare's findings that he suffers from “impaired memory” and therefore should not be charged with illegally possessing classified documents may not have solved the “problem” of the majority of voters who believe he like that. He is old and unqualified for the job.
He contradicted elements of the special counsel's report. “That will continue, no doubt,” he said, adding: “And then he was very angry, not just at his release, or at the special counsel’s descriptions, but at what some reporters were asking him about.”
Axelrod stressed that the issue of age and mental fitness is “an issue for the president,” and warned that Biden appears to be “reinforcing” people's impression of him as old.
“Anderson, the most damaging thing that can happen in politics — there are things that reinforce the meme out there that hurts you. And the main idea that's hurtful to the president is the issue of age. It's a huge barrier.”
Democrats are deeply concerned about this, and they should be. Biden has done himself a great disservice with this speech.
He confirmed what many people already thought about him.
