Tucker Carlson released his interview with Vladimir Putin on Thursday evening. During the interview, Tucker asked Putin about the Nord Stream pipeline.
Tucker Carlson: Who blew up Nord Stream?
Russian President Vladimir Putin: You definitely are.
Tucker Carlson: I was busy that day. I didn't blow up Nord Stream.
Russian President Vladimir Putin: Thank you. You may personally have an alibi, but the CIA has no such alibi.
Tucker Carlson: Do you have evidence that NATO or the CIA did this?
Russian President Vladimir Putin: You know, I'm not going to go into detail, but people always say in cases like this, find someone interested. But in this case, we should not only look for the interested person, but also the person with the capabilities. Because there may be a lot of people interested, but not all of them are able to sink to the bottom of the Baltic Sea and do this explosion. These two components must be connected. Who is interested and who is able to do it.
Tucker Carlson: But I'm confused. I mean, this is the largest act of industrial terrorism ever, the largest carbon dioxide emission in history. Well, if you have evidence, and you are supposed to present it to your security services, your intelligence services, do you think that NATO, the United States, the CIA and the West did it, why not present it and win a propaganda victory?
Russian President Vladimir Putin: In the propaganda war, it is very difficult to defeat the United States, because the United States controls all the world media and many European media. The ultimate beneficiary of the largest European media outlets are American financial institutions. Don't you know that? So it is possible to engage in this work, but its cost is high, so to speak. We can simply highlight our sources of information and we will not achieve results. What happened is clear to the whole world, and even American analysts are talking about it directly.
As previously mentioned by Richard Adelson –
The Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines were blown up by explosions measuring 2.3 on the Richter scale, in 230 feet of water, at two points 40 miles apart. German, Danish and Swedish authorities promised to conduct investigations but did not publish official results. On March 27, 2023, the United Nations Security Council rejected calls from Russia and China for an international investigation.
On February 8, 2023, veteran investigative journalist Seymour Hersh published a detailed account of how the Biden administration's national security adviser, Jake Sullivan, instructed the CIA to destroy Nord Stream pipelines in December 2022, long before the war began. Hirsch's detailed account remains the most convincing version of events, although it is routinely “debunked” or ignored by the mainstream press, which prefers to speculate about the unidentified Ukrainians who blew up the massive 3-inch-thick concrete and steel pipelines using a sailboat. .
Writing again on the anniversary of the attack, Hersh revealed new details from his intelligence source about how the Biden administration misled the CIA into believing the sabotage plans were intended to deter Putin and keep the peace, while instead aiming to cripple Germany economically and ensure that… He did not surrender to Russian pressure.
“The Biden administration did blow up pipelines, but that action had nothing to do with winning or stopping the war in Ukraine,” Hersh wrote. “It resulted from concerns in the White House that Germany would back away and turn to an influx of Russian gas — and that, for economic reasons, Germany and thus NATO would come under the control of Russia and its vast and inexpensive natural resources. Thus followed the ultimate fear: that America would lose its long-standing supremacy in Western Europe.
“The real reason why the Biden administration floated the idea of eliminating the Nord Stream pipeline,” Hersh’s source explained. While Russia supplied the world with gas and oil through more than a dozen pipelines, Nord Stream 1 and 2 passed directly from Russia through the Baltic Sea to Germany.
“The administration put Nord Stream on the table because it was the only one we had access to and it would be completely deniable,” Hersh's CIA source told him. “We resolved the issue within a few weeks — by early January — and informed the White House. Our assumption was that the president would use the threat against Nord Stream as a deterrent to avoid war.”
Hersh writes that Under Secretary of State Victoria Nuland was clearly involved in the plot: Since January 27, 2022, “I have strongly warned Putin that if he invades Ukraine, Nord Stream 2 will not go ahead one way or another,” while noting that “we continue to have very strong and clear talks with our German allies.”
When German Chancellor Olaf Scholz visited Washington on February 7, 2022, Joe Biden warned that “if Russia invades… there will be no Nord Stream 2 anymore. We will put an end to it.” Asked by a journalist how he could promise that given that the pipeline was controlled by Germany and Russia, Biden said: “We will, I promise you, we will be able to do it.”
Olaf Schulz doesn't seem bothered by this threat. “We are working together. We are completely united, and we will not take different steps. We will take the same steps, and it will be very difficult for Russia,” Scholz said.
To the CIA team that planned the attack, this was a signal that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz “was fully aware of the secret planning underway to destroy the pipelines,” Hersh’s source told him.
At the time, the intelligence community took this as confirmation that their mission was “to come up with a plan strong enough to deter Putin from attacking Ukraine,” Hersh writes. “We did it. We found an exceptional deterrent because of its economic impact on Russia. And Putin did it despite the threat,” Hersh’s source, Siad.
It took two American experts Navy deep-sea divers have “months of research and practice” alongside Norwegian sailors I found the right place to plant bombs, before the mission was considered a success. “Senior officials in Sweden and Denmark, who still insist that they have no idea what is happening in their country Territorial waters, turned a blind eye to the activities of American and Norwegian agents. It would be difficult to hide the American team of divers and support staff on the mission's mother ship – a Norwegian minesweeper – while the divers were doing their work. It was only after the bombing that the team learned that Nord Stream 2 had been shut down and had 750 miles of natural gas inside.
Despite Biden's threat, Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022. However, the White House asked the CIA's planning group to “plant the necessary bombs and prepare to detonate them 'on demand' even after the war had begun,” Hersh writes. After the charges were planted in June 2022 as part of the BaltOps military exercise, the team was disbanded. The explosion was later caused by a Norwegian fighter plane that “dropped a modified off-the-shelf sonar device into the right place in the Baltic Sea,” Hirsch wrote.
“Then we understood Hersh's source told him that the attack on the pipelines was not a deterrent because as the war went on we never got the order. “We realized that the destruction of the two Russian pipelines had nothing to do with the Ukrainian war but was part of a neoconservative political agenda to prevent Schulz and Germany, with winter approaching and the pipelines closed, from cooling down and opening up.” Nord Stream 2 closed Which “Putin will put Germany under his thumb, and then he will put Poland.”
“The president thus dealt a blow to the economy of Germany and Western Europe,” the source told Hersh. He could have done that in June and said to Putin: 'We told you what we were going to do.' He said the White House's silence and denial was a “betrayal of what we were doing.” If you're going to do it, do it when it will make a difference.
Vladimir Putin wasn't pushing anything during the Tucker Carlson interview, which millions of Americans already know.
