Tucker Carlson dared to do what many other American journalists have done in the past: interview Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Democrats in the media are angry about this, but it's not just Americans. Now, a member of the European Parliament wants to impose sanctions on Carlson for doing what journalists are supposed to do.

It's called “journalism.”
This American man wants to interview a head of state who represents a side of the war that the United States is actively funding.
He must be crazy!
In the past it was what was called “press”.
However, National Review reported, “A member of the European Parliament is calling on the legislature to consider sanctions against Tucker Carlson over his interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to a new report.”
“Since Putin is a war criminal, and the EU imposes sanctions on everyone who helps him in this effort, it makes sense for the External Action Service to examine his case as well,” MEP Guy Verhofstadt, a former Belgian prime minister, told Newsweek.
Would interviewing a head of state now help commit Russian war crimes?
The story continued:
Verhofstadt raised the idea of a travel ban to the former Fox News anchor, whom he described as a “mouthpiece” for former President Donald Trump and Putin. The interview makes Carlson the first Western journalist to interview Putin since Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
Any potential sanctions must first be approved by the External Action Authority, the bloc's diplomatic arm responsible for foreign policy. After the EAS has reviewed the evidence, it can then take the case to the European Council for a final decision.
It won't end with sanctions either. Hey ho! Reports stated that the sanctions against Carlson would include banning him from entering the European Union.

Carlson explains
Carlson gave reasons why he wanted to interview Putin, even though from a journalist's point of view, or what journalism has been like in the past, he should not have done so.
“Most Americans have no idea why Putin invaded Ukraine or what his goals are now,” Carlson said in a video Tuesday explaining his decision. “We're not here because we like Vladimir Putin… We're not encouraging you to agree with what Putin might say in this interview, but we are urging you to watch it. You should know as much as you can.”
He added: “Americans have the right to know everything they can about the war they are involved in, and we have the right to tell them about it.”
The interview was announced as being broadcast on Thursday evening.
