Joy Behar appeared to attack the late Queen Elizabeth, who died in 2022 at the age of 96, after her son, King Charles, was diagnosed with cancer.
Bihar votes are off
During Tuesday's episode of her talk show “The View” on ABC, Behar appeared to criticize the queen for not stepping down to give her son a chance at the throne, the Daily Mail reported. The Queen ruled for 70 years, before her death in September 2022, a record.
“It's like, why don't you step aside and let Charles have his day in the sun?” – Bihar asked. “The poor man, he's finally king, and now he's suffering from an illness. This doesn't seem fair. There's something wrong with that.”
She added: “Women have been in this position for 70 years, which is the longest period of rule.” “I think she could have used some term limits.”
Unfortunately for Bihar, social media users were quick to respond to her by defending the queen.
“Maybe #JoyBehar should get her 81 year old ass off TV and make room for someone else?” one user commented, and another added: “Joey should have been put on term limits years ago!”
“I have absolutely no use for the Royal Family (see my Twitter), but that doesn't change the fact that Joy Behar is an unreasonable pig,” a third user commented.

Diagnosis of King Charles Cancer
Buckingham Palace announced on Monday that Charles has been diagnosed with an unspecified type of cancer.
“During the King's recent operation in hospital for benign prostatic hyperplasia, a separate matter of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests identified a type of cancer,” the palace said in a statement. “His Majesty has today begun a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has advised Doctors postpone his public duties. Throughout this period, His Majesty will continue to carry out state business and official papers as usual.
He added: “The king is grateful to his medical team for their rapid intervention, which was made possible thanks to the procedure he recently underwent in the hospital.” The statement added: “He remains completely positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public service as soon as possible.” “His Majesty has chosen to share his diagnosis to prevent speculation and in the hope that it will aid the public’s understanding of all those affected by cancer around the world.”

Royal experts weigh in
CBS News royal contributor Julian Payne, who previously served as communications director for then-Prince Charles, said the monarch generally enjoyed “very strong health.”
“So, this will be something he's not used to,” Payne said. “I think he'll be stoic about it. I think he'll do what the doctors tell him to do, and I think his eyes will be very focused on getting back to work and getting back to full fitness.”
Royal expert Roya Nekkah said that although he is not as popular as his mother, the king still enjoys a “tremendous amount of affection and goodwill” from the public.
She continued: “The British public are truly shocked and saddened, as they were when the Queen was very ill and in her final years.” “The nation will want to rally around the king and hope he makes a full recovery.”
