Ronna McDaniel, chairwoman of the Republican National Committee and niece of Senator Mitt Romney, is reportedly resigning from her position.

McDaniel has been inundated with calls to resign for some time, and the news comes amid reports that the Republican National Committee is facing some challenges in its fundraising efforts.

The RNC chair will step down after South Carolina's Republican primary on February 24, The New York Times reported.

RNC spokesman Keith Schipper did not confirm or deny the move in a statement to the Daily Mail, but noted that a decision on the matter would be made in conjunction with the timeline reported by the Times.

“Nothing has changed. That will be determined after South Carolina,” Schipper said.

Under worthless RNC Chair Ronna Romney McDaniel, the Republican National Committee took in $176.6 million in 2022, and just $87.2 million in 2023.

Trump met with her yesterday at Mar-a-Lago and discussed her “fate.”

Ronna McDaniel resigns after Trump's visit

News of Ronna McDaniel's resignation comes just days after Politico reported that she visited former President Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago.

Trump, in a post on Truth Social a day before her visit, called McDaniel “my friend” but added that while she “now chairs the Republican National Committee,” he “will make a decision the day after the South Carolina primary.” For my recommendations on the growth of the RNC.

During an interview with Fox News, he hinted at things to come.

“I think she did a good job, initially, at the Republican National Committee. I would say now that some changes will probably need to be made.”

    'Better late than never'

When it comes to leadership in the Republican Party, it's always best to listen to what they have to say. McDaniel telegraphed the current landscape of the Republican Party in remarks he made last November before he took control of the House.

McDaniel explained that the Republican Party will reach out across the aisle and work with President Joe Biden if he wins control of Congress after the midterm elections.

He added: “If we take back the House and the Senate, the American people are saying to Joe Biden: We want you to work on our behalf and we want you to work across the aisle and solve the problems that we are dealing with.” “She said at the time.

She also told the CNN host that Republicans would not simply be an obstacle to the president's agenda. True to her word, they were not a barrier for Biden, but rather served as a police escort to get him where he needed to be faster.

News of McDaniel's potential departure comes as Axios reports that the Republican National Committee is entering 2024 with a pitiful $8 million in cash.

Former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy celebrated the impending change of leadership on social media. You may remember that he disemboweled Ronna McDaniel during a presidential debate in November.

BREAKING: RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel has informed Donald Trump that she will resign after the South Carolina primary.

    Good 🔥

Here's what Vivek Ramaswamy said about McDaniel during the primary debates.

“We've been a bunch of losers… ever since Ronna McDaniel took over… pic.twitter.com/MvnuidPjdH

“We have become a bunch of losers in the end,” Ramaswamy said.

“Since Ronna McDaniel took over as chair of the Republican National Committee in 2017, we've lost in 2018, 2020, and 2022, and a red wave never came. We got beat last night in 2023,” he added.

McDaniel responded by mocking Ramaswamy as “in need of a headline” due to his low poll numbers. But now he's the one laughing.

“Better late than never,” he said after news of McDaniel's resignation. “No more losing.”
