DENVER (KDVR) — A string of storms continues to move from the West Coast toward Colorado, pushing clouds with rain and snow across the Denver weather zone.
A foot or two of snow is expected to fall on the mountains until Thursday. Travel will be a challenge in the high country.
According to Pinpoint Weather, Colorado's most accurate forecast, metro Denver and the Front Range have another chance for snow on Friday with additional snow possible Saturday.
Weather tonight: cold with snow falling on the mountains
Snow will continue to fall in the Colorado mountains overnight with several inches of accumulation possible along with slick roads. It will be cool and breezy for metro Denver and the Front Range, with passing clouds at times.
Tomorrow's weather: Possibility of scattered rain showers
More snow is expected to fall in the highlands, which may be heavy at times, especially in the later afternoon and evening.
Another mild day is expected in the eastern half of the state, including metro Denver. There could also be a few showers crossing the plains.
Looking Ahead: Snow returns with cold temperatures
An approaching weekend storm brings the chance of snow back to Denver. The forecast now calls for snow later Friday with a few inches possible by early Saturday. Then a second batch of snow will fall on Saturday with another few inches possible.
Some sunshine returns Sunday as the weekend storm disappears. It will be cold with some snow melting.
Temperatures will slowly return to seasonal levels with more sunshine early next week.
