Syracuse, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — The sun will continue to shine most of this week! Details below.

    Stay dry and sunny

We are in the midst of unusually nice, dry, sunny and long weather for February until Thursday. As high pressure continues to grip the area, we can look forward to more sunshine through most of the week! I guess you could say we're making up for the lack of sun we've had to endure recently for about two weeks!

The feeling of spring is also developing

Yes, tonight, Tuesday night and Wednesday night will be very cold, but nothing out of the ordinary, and if anything, it will be a little milder than average. Normal lows are still in the teens.

The same is true for this week's highs. In addition to the calm weather and sunshine, temperatures will start to rise into the mid 40s by midweek and even approach, if not exceed 50 by Thursday and Friday! Yes, it will feel like April is here and not February in the latter half of the week!

You may need an umbrella by the end of the weeks

The next chance for rain will likely come in the form of scattered showers, as we expect a cold front to move in from the west on Friday afternoon. Conditions should turn breezy ahead of a cold front early Thursday afternoon/evening.

It's getting colder, not colder, this weekend

It's slowly getting colder this weekend with highs remaining around 50 degrees on Saturday before falling back into the 40s on Sunday 40 degrees Celsius, which remains well above the normal of 33 degrees Celsius this weekend!

WINTER LOVERS/SNOW LOVERS There's some hope on the horizon…there are strong indicators pointing to a more normal mid-winter pattern trying to take shape after Superbowl weekend across the East/Northeast. Stay tuned for updates.
