Hollywood star Jane Fonda resurfaced last week in an attempt to recruit liberal voters ahead of this year's presidential election.
Fonda votes down
Fonda appeared on Friday at Colorado State University's Year of Democracy, where she used climate change to try to convince people to vote Democratic.
“We are the first generation — all of us, the elderly and you young people — to be the first to experience the real impacts of the climate crisis,” Fonda, 86, said, according to The Collegian. “And we're the last ones who can do something about it. So your participation, your votes, whoever we vote for when you go to the polls — it has a climate in your heart.”
“We need to make the oil companies persona non grata,” she continued. “Don't sleep with anyone involved. In the '60s during the Vietnam War, we used to say, 'Girls say no to boys who go away.' It was the wrong strategy, actually, because it wasn't the boys' fault. … You can sleep with oil workers. That's not Their fault. Don't sleep with CEOs.

Fonda doubles down
Fonda went on to talk about her time in Commerce City, Colorado, earlier in the week.
“We need to get in front of people,” Fonda said. “Do you know what the oil companies call this kind of place, a commercial city? It’s called the Sacrifice Zone.”
“This is not a partisan issue,” she added. “This is 'Are we going to survive?' “The cause, and all of you can have a big impact. What led me to decide to dedicate my life to fighting the climate crisis is people your age.
Fonda then explained that she was not born an activist, but rather became an activist over time.
“What I really like to do is listen,” Fonda said. “There's listening, and there's listening with your heart. So, if you understand why people act the way they do and then find some ways to talk differently, … you can talk to them (and see) where they're coming from.”
After encouraging the students to lean on each other, Fonda said, “Men's friendships are sitting side by side, looking. Usually cars or sports or women. Women's friendships are face-to-face, face-to-face, and even if you don't see each other for five years, you You go deep down to the soul level.

Fonda brings up the Vietnam War
Fonda also touched on the Vietnam War, where she was nicknamed the Hanoi Jane after she was photographed carrying an enemy anti-aircraft gun that was used to kill American troops.
“How many people died in Vietnam because he needed to maintain the image of his family man?” Fonda said. “It's important – we all have to be like psychiatrists when we go to the polls. Is this person going to be so concerned about looking macho that he won't do the humane and sustainable thing that needs to happen?
Fonda has been known for decades for her extreme and ignorant liberal views, so her recent comments come as no surprise. In the end, anyone listening to Hanoi Jane is already voting Democratic, so she's not really accomplishing anything with these leftist rants.
