Hauser & Wirth Los Angeles will explore the art of Jason Rhodes through the lens of cars and car culture. The exhibition, DRIVE, will run from February 27 through January 14, 2024. The exhibition will evolve throughout the year, featuring thematic iterations and an evolving display of Rhodes's sculptures, drawings, videos and multiples, complemented by archival materials. Public programs and contemporary perspectives.

This extended exhibition will include several stages:

    • Inaugural Exhibition – Exploring cars as symbols of art history, class identifiers, and environments of control.
    • April Exhibition – Highlights Rhodes' strategic transactions involving symbolic value, such as trading a Caprice for a Ferrari.
    • Summer Show – Shifts the focus to the race track, showcasing half-sized NASCAR cars, custom jackets, and painted tire fenders from “The Snowball.”
    • September Exhibition – Covers the final part of the “DRIVE” exhibition with framed works on paper and a central sculptural installation.
