More than 251,000 Bay Area customers were without power Sunday, PG&E said at 5:30 p.m. Sunday.

A PG&E spokesperson told NBC Bay Area that about 638,000 customers throughout its service area in the state were experiencing power outages.

The service added that the service area is from the California and Oregon border to Bakersfield.

As of this update, 105,733 customers are without power in the South Bay Area. In the North Bay, that number is 42,954. The East Bay has 9,811 customers without power, while 67,355 customers on the Peninsula are without power. San Francisco has 5,499 customers with power.

High winds could bring down power lines as a result of vegetation and debris hitting our lines, PG&E officials said.

Anyone who sees downed wires should assume they are energized, stay away, and then call 911 and PG&E.
