Taylor Swift delighted her fans on Sunday night by announcing a new album during the Grammy Awards. “The Tortured Poets Oath” will be released on April 19.
Swifties suspected earlier on Sunday that the pop singer might be announcing news that she would be dropping “Reputation (Taylor's Version)” after she changed her profile picture to a black and white photo across several of her social media profiles, including Instagram.
The album artwork for “Reputation” is a black-and-white photo of Swift with her name written on newsprint, a thematic reference to the way she was represented by the media and how she was fighting back.

Instead, while accepting the award for best pop vocal album for her album “Midnights,” Swift said there was a brand new album coming.
Following the announcement, the song “Red Herring” began trending on While Swift's website was down in the lead-up to the concert, it displayed an error message and the word “hneriergrd.” Without their symbols, those letters could spell “red herring.”
The album will consist of 16 songs and a bonus track called “The Manuscript”.
Swift revealed in her acceptance speech that she kept the album secret for two years.
Swift said in her speech: “I want to say thank you to my fans by telling you a secret that I have kept from you for the past two years, which is that my new album will be released on April 19.” “It's called 'Tortured Poets Section'. I'll go and post the cover now behind the scenes. Thank you, love you!”
Swift's Instagram page quickly updated following the announcement. Her profile picture was changed to a new black and white photo, and her bio now read: “All's fair in love and poetry…”
