    Jacksonville, Florida -We may be biased, but we think our meteorologists at News4JAX are the best.

    News4JAX wanted to celebrate and thank the Weather Service – and others around the world – for their continued hard work and pursuit of accurate weather reporting for Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia.

    The National Weather Service explained that the holiday – which is celebrated on February 5 – commemorates the birth of John Jeffries in 1744.     It is a day to honor the men and women who collectively provide Americans with the best weather, water, climate and warning services of any nation.
