Scarlett Jenkinson and Eddie Ratcliffe were sentenced to life in prison for the stabbing death of 16-year-old transgender girl Brianna Guy in February 2023. The Guardian reported that Jenkinson and Ratcliffe discussed methods to commit Guy's murder. Jenkinson even tried to poison Guy weeks before killing her.

Amid the current case, another incident came to light where Jenkinson drugged another student while she was studying at Culcheth High School.

BBC News initially reported that Birchwood Community High School authorities were not aware of this incident when they moved to this school.

However, The Guardian later reported that Emma Mills, the school's headteacher, stated that she had learned of the incident.

Two teens have been sentenced to life in prison for the stabbing death of another teen, Brianna Guy, last year

For the unaware, Brianna Guy was brutally stabbed to death by teenagers Scarlett Jenkinson and Eddie Ratcliffe. The victim was stabbed around 28 times at Culcheth Linear Park. BBC News reported a statement made by Ms Justice Yip about the case.

According to Yip, while Jenkinson was motivated by a “deep desire to kill,” Ratcliffe was primarily motivated by his hostile approach to Brianna's sexual identity. Yip added:

He added: “Taken together, the injuries indicate a sustained and extremely violent assault. Unfortunately, Brianna could not have lost consciousness immediately, and she must have been aware that she was being attacked.”

The judge stated that Jenkinson's “fantasy of killing” became reality at the moment she lured Guy to the park in Cheshire. According to Alisha Guy, the victim's sister, she was killed by people she thought were her friends.

Brianna Guy's father mentioned that it was very difficult to deal with a transgender child, but they were working on it and he was proud of her. he added:

“We were forming a new relationship and these two killers stole that relationship from us.”

The two teenagers were reportedly seen fleeing the scene after the brutal stabbing. Ultimately, the authorities considered them suspects.

Jenkinson sent some disturbing letters to Ratcliffe

Brianna Guy's mother, Esther Guy, recalled the time she returned home to find that her daughter had fallen ill. As reported by BBC News, Esther said:

“She was writhing in pain, clutching her stomach, and saying she felt like she was going to die.”

During that period, on 23 January 2023, Jenkinson sent Ratcliffe some disturbing messages on WhatsApp. One message reads:

“You know that girl I mentioned, Brianna, I'm still trying to kill her and the easiest way is to overdose on the pill.”

In another letter to Ratcliffe, she wrote:

“Brianna's still sick. Those pills you gave her are probably killing her slowly.”

BBC News reported the view of Dr. Amanda Holt, a criminologist at the University of Roehampton in London, on the Brianna Guy murder case.

According to Holt, it's unusual for a child with no prior criminal record to suddenly decide to kill someone. Holt added:

“If you look at the history of children who engage in homicide, you inevitably find a history of increased violence, and some of that violence may include previous attempts to commit murder.”

Jenkinson's family expressed their apologies to the victim's family, BBC News reported.
