today: Today is FOX 35 Weather Impact Day.

    • Two rounds of rain and storms will be possible today, with the strength of the second round depending largely on how the first one plays out. Scattered rain, with some thunder, will continue in the area until noon today. No severe weather is expected on this tour, just steady rain, a little wind and some thunder.
    • Between noon and 1 p.m., shower activity is expected to subside slightly. If there is any clarity/sunshine able to come out during this break, that means better chances for strong storms this afternoon. However, the weather will be very tense after this first wave of rain and storms. Storm fuel (instability) will be a key component of storm formation this afternoon. Bottom line, if the sun comes out, that means more storm fuel. If the rain and/or clouds persist a little longer, this will reduce the potential for severe weather.
    • The best time to stay aware of the weather will be between 1pm – 7pm This afternoon. Once the sun sets, our storm chances will increase.
    • Areas to be aware of the weather will primarily be in our northeastern counties. This includes Flagler, Volusia, Marion, and northern Lake Counties.
    • the The main impacts will be heavy rain and strong winds. However, with any strong storms capable of forming, The risk of a few tornadoes and hail cannot be ruled out.

Monday Tuesday: The meteorological forecast today, Monday, is expected to witness scattered showers and rain, with a noticeable drop in temperatures. Afternoon highs will only reach the lows and mid-60s on Monday and Tuesday. Tuesday's forecast will be drier and sunnier, but also windier. Wind speeds on Tuesday could reach 35-40 mph.

weekend: A calmer and calmer pattern settles in over the weekend. This is shaping up to be a really nice stretch, with highs back in the low to mid 70s and plenty of sunshine and dry time along the way.
