Employment in the technology sector rose by an estimated 17,833 jobs, according to a CompTIA analysis US Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) #Jobs report Reveal data.[1] Technology companies added jobs in four of the five major subsectors, driven by technology services and software development (+14,500), cloud infrastructure (+2,100), and technology manufacturing, particularly semiconductors (+1,400).
Technology occupations across the economy declined by an estimated 117,000 jobs.[2] The unemployment rate in technical professions remained unchanged at 2.3%. The national unemployment rate remains at 3.7%.
“This month’s data is a useful reminder of the many moving parts in assessing the gains or losses of the technology workforce,” he said.

Job postings in the field of artificial intelligence or requiring AI skills increased by about 2,000 jobs from December to January, to 17,479.
