Paris: French police said that a knife attack early Saturday morning at the Gare de Lyon train station in Paris resulted in three people being injured, ruling out terrorism at this stage.
Paris police chief Laurent Nunes told reporters that police had arrested the suspected attacker, who showed signs of mental disorders.
“We found medication on him that indicates he is undergoing treatment.”
Police said that two of the victims suffered minor injuries, while the third was seriously injured, but his life was not in danger.
The attacker, who had Italian residence permits and was in France legally, attacked the travelers with a knife and a hammer. French media said he was originally from Mali, but Nunes did not confirm these reports.
