    Bitcoin price today | Cryptocurrency Prices Today: Bitcoin, Solana, XRP, PEPE decline as Monero rises

    Cryptocurrency prices took a strong bearish turn today as Bitcoin (BTC) fell below $42,000 while major altcoins posted notable losses as well. Moreover, Ethereum (ETH), the second largest cryptocurrency by market cap, also fell below the $2,300 level today. Moreover, the price of XRP took a major hit as it fell below $0.50 during the session.

    Major crypto prices today

    Bitcoin price fell below the $42,000 level today due to the recent bearish shift. The price of Bitcoin fell by 2.22%, settling at $41,978.95 at the time of writing on Thursday, February 1. On the other hand, trading volume increased by 11.68% to reach $25.51 billion during the past 24 hours. Meanwhile, the cryptocurrency's market capitalization reached $823.69 billion

    In the altcoin space, Ethereum's price is down 3.69% to $2,259.05 at press time with a market valuation of $271.27 billion. However, Ethereum recorded a 6.95% rise in its trade volume, reaching $11.03 billion. Additionally, the price of Binance Coin (BNB) fell by 2.79% in value to $298.61, while 24-hour trading volume rose by 9.46% to $837.64 million.

    Furthermore, Solana's price fell by a significant 6.71% to $93.71. However, SOL saw an 11.15% increase in trade volume to $3.87 billion over the past 24 hours. Moreover, the price of XRP dropped significantly. XRP price recorded a 2.54% decrease to $0.4972. Additionally, XRP trading volume decreased by 23.88% to $1.34 billion.

    Meanwhile, Cardano price fell by 3.99% to $0.4919. On the contrary, it recorded a 3.30% increase in trading volume within 24 hours to settle at $472.02 million. Meanwhile, in the meme market, Dogecoin fell 1.84% to $0.07873, while its biggest competitor, Shiba Inu, recorded a 2.41% decline and traded at $0.000008993.

    Pepe coin drops by 7%

    Pepe Coin (PEPE), a meme cryptocurrency, has crashed dramatically. At press time, Pepe Coin's price was down 6.87% to $0.0000009112 with a market valuation of $412.11 million. In contrast, 24-hour trade volume increased by 29.82% to reach $98.92 million.

    SATS was crowned as the top gainer today

    Cryptocurrency SATS (1000SATS), a BRC-20 token, posted significant gains on Thursday, considering the overall downward trend. As of writing, the price of SATS has risen by 6.46% to $0.000524, making SATS the biggest gainer in the market today. Furthermore, trade volume increased by a staggering 98.06% to $92.89 million.

    Monero continues to rebound from recent losses

    The largest privacy cryptocurrency, Monero (XMR), has been on the rebound after losing significant value last month. XMR price rose 4.60% to $167.70 at the time of reporting. In addition, trade volume increased by 13.04% to reach $100.18 million. Additionally, Monero hit a high of $167.63 during the day.
