Democratic mayors of sanctuary cities may have to start playing it as their theme song.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott issued a warning to sanctuary cities across the country on Monday, letting them know he does not intend to stop transporting migrants from the Lone Star State.
“Texas has moved more than 102,000 migrants to sanctuary cities,” Abbott wrote on the social media platform X.
“Texas’ overcrowded border cities should not bear the brunt of Biden’s open border policies. “Our transportation mission will continue until Biden secures the border.”

Like the parents of frustrated teens throwing their rage into the basement, Abbott tells Sanctuary Cities that it's time to take responsibility for the guests they invite.
It would be funny if it wasn't so serious.
For example, New York City Mayor Eric Adams is one of the country's most prominent Democrats lamenting the impact of the immigration crisis facing President Joe Biden.
But in 2019, when he was still Brooklyn Borough President and Donald Trump was in the White House, Adams issued an open invitation to the world to come to the Big Apple, as Fox News reported in a January 13 article:
“To anyone in the world fleeing hate and oppression, the ultimate immigrant city wants you to remember: You are always welcome here,” Adams wrote.

It was a generous invitation, since Texas and other border states were already footing the food and housing bill for illegal immigrants.
But Adams has been singing a different tune since Abbott started sending guests to the actual party venue.
“We're getting an average — just think about that number, there are weeks where we get 4,000 immigrants coming into our city,” Adams told “Good Morning America” on Jan. 11, according to Fox News. “When you have nowhere [from] 2,500 to 4,000 people come a week, and you have to find housing, food, shelter, clothing, education for children, health care, and that's not sustainable.
Adams also said: “The problem is that when you parole someone into a country, you have to have a national decompression strategy to roll out across the country and not just target specific cities.”
In fact, the problem is that the “certain cities” Adams is talking about are exactly the same cities that have gone out of their way to tell the whole world how open they are to illegal immigrants.
They called themselves the “Sanctuary City”, like a giant “vacancy” sign above their place on the map. And now people are taking them up on their offer.
Funny how that works.
In November, according to the Associated Press, the mayors of other self-declared “sanctuary cities” — the Democratic strongholds of Chicago, Denver, Houston and Los Angeles — joined Adams in writing a letter to Biden describing migrants sleeping in police stations, who have turned to cruise ship terminals, and other inadequate facilities.
Space and money were exhausted, and panic was setting in.
Long gone are the days of virtue signaling around mercy.
As the Pussy Cat Dolls sang, growing up isn't always as easy as it seems.
And be careful what you wish for. You just might get it.
