Former Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly called out Rachel Maddow on Monday night, saying the MSNBC host shares the “superpower” of former President Donald Trump of being able to lie “with impunity.”
Kelly Torches Maddow
During Monday night's episode of her eponymous talk show, Kelly responded to Maddow's recent disastrous interview with E! Jane Carroll, who was awarded $83 million in her defamation case against Trump last Friday, according to Yahoo News. Kelly noted that Maddow couldn't help but look “giddy” while interviewing Carole.
“Jean Carroll and her lawyer Robby Kaplan have proven in court that Trump cannot lie with impunity,” Maddow said in one clip. “They did it for the country.”
“The ability to lie without shame and without any kind of telling, without any kind of remorse about it at all, even about the most important things, always seemed like a political superpower to him,” she added. “I turned it the other way around.”
But Kelly was having none of it.
“No self-awareness!” Kelly fired again. “The ability to lie with impunity without any knowledge is a superpower.” Yes, you've got it, ma'am! “I practiced it for four years while he was in the White House.”

Kelly recalls interviewing Trump's accusers
Kelly went on to recall that he interviewed Trump accusers Jessica Leeds, Samantha Holvey and Rachel Crooks on the “Today” show in 2017. During this interview, Kelly asked Leeds, who accused Trump of groping her on a plane in the 1970s, how the former president could have She manages to reach the middle of her journey.
“I'm definitely not a believer in 'I believe in all women,' but I'm also not a believer in 'I don't believe in women' either… You don't have to make it uncomfortable and painful when you have someone claim they were having sex with you. “I realize there has to be a ginger approach,” Kelly said. “But you don't have to be completely negligent in your duties as a journalist.”
“When I was interviewing these women while I was at NBC, I wasn't a huge fan of Trump. I was very open to the fact that he might have done this,” Kelly continued. “But I had to ask these tough questions of the women.” Because that's our job.”

Kelly calls the media
Kelly also criticized the media for the way they covered Carroll's allegations against Trump.
“They want us all to agree with that, and they want us all to say it's appalling that Trump continues to exclude this woman,” Kelly said. “Instead of considering for a moment the possibility that Trump is telling the truth here, that Trump actually doesn't remember this person and certainly didn't sexually assault her, and that she's actually kind of crazy, who decided to make up a story about him so her name would appear in the headlines for the possibility Getting money from a man with deep pockets.
“The media has no appetite to entertain this possibility,” she concluded.

Kelly is one of the few people in media these days who isn't afraid to think for herself. In contrast, Maddow is widely viewed as one of the biggest hacks on television, having spent years promoting the false narrative that Trump colluded with Russia to win the 2016 election.
