Selleck sounds disabled
The Daily Mail reported that Selleck, who turned 79 yesterday, made it clear that he was not ready to say goodbye to the “blue bloods” just yet.
“CBS will find that too many people are not ready to say goodbye,” he told TV Insider. “The show is more popular than ever, I think [numbers] It will increase with interest this year. We certainly haven't run out of ideas.
“I'm not counting the days until I can do something else. “I love working,” he added. “Sometimes the hours are a little harder because I'm older, but so what? “I want to work as long as they stay with me.”
Selleck also spoke about his famous “Blue Bloods” character Frank Reagan, saying that he “chooses fights because he would like someone to bear the burden of that responsibility.” [off] his hands and shot him. But he has an excessive sense of responsibility and he clings to it.
Selleck is a proud 'blue blood'
When asked what he was most proud of when it came to his time on “Blue Bloods,” Selleck replied: “Playing a flawed but strong father.”
“In TV and commercials, Dad's usually the asshole,” Selleck explained. “It's not my job on the show, but the byproduct is an example of an important patriarch to the family. That's becoming rare in our culture.”
Selleck concluded by talking about how important the Reagan family's weekly dinners were to the show's success.
“It's the audience's favorite part,” he said. “When I saw the eight-page dinner scene [exec producer] I said to Leonard Goldberg's pilot script: “They're going to cut that, aren't they?” He replied, “No, that will be the focus of the show.” “He was right.”
