Hot on the heels of the release of their seventh studio album last week People who aren't there anymore (4AD), Future Islands unveiled an Ivana Bobić-directed video for the song “The Thief” and announced a North American tour to further support the project.
Dates begin in Boston on June 19 and include a stop at New York's legendary Radio City Music Hall on June 20. It reinforces tour plans previously announced for Future Islands in South America in March. The artist pre-sale begins tomorrow (January 31) at 10 a.m. local time, while the Spotify and venue pre-sale begins the next day at the same time. Tickets will go on sale to the public on Friday at 10 a.m. local time.
People who aren't there anymore It heralds a new chapter for Future Islands which, although formed nearly two decades ago, continues to challenge themselves and each other. While they had strived for higher energy anthems than ever in the past, this time they turned inward and unlocked a new level of ferocity. The album delivers some of their most inspiring and heartfelt tracks by doing the opposite: taking their time, making every breath, syllable, and cymbal crash.
