Popular Sky Sports broadcaster Simon Thomas recently shared on Instagram that he and his wife Derena Gibb are expecting their second child.
He posted a photo of his son Ethan and daughter with Derena Talitha sitting with a birthday cake. The image also shows a snapshot of the ultrasound chart, suggesting that the couple are expecting their second child.
Thomas married Derena Gibb in 2021, after being together for 4 years, since 2018. He met Derena after the tragic death of his first wife, Gemma, from acute myeloid leukemia. Thomas first revealed that he had started dating another woman in November 2018 on BBC Radio 5 Live.
Derena Gibb currently works in the legal field and is the daughter of a church minister. She met Simon Thomas in 2018 and they have a daughter together.
Simon and Derena were married in the presence of their close friends and family at Norwich Cathedral. The couple hosted a reception at Oxnead Hall after the ceremony.

Simon Thomas also spoke about how Derena helped his family recover after the tragic death of his first wife. He also stated in 2018 that Derena is a Christian and this is important to him as a “man of faith.”
The Sky Sports presenter also praised his wife for bringing his son Ethan back to life after his mother's death. In an Instagram post from last year, the broadcaster described how Ethan “comes back to life” when Derena is around.
Thomas talked about how Ethan is quiet and calm when Derena isn't around, but is able to laugh freely in her company. It was also revealed in 2018 that Ethan took some time to sleep in his bedroom after his mother died.

In his latest post announcing the arrival of a second child, Thomas hopes his birth will be less “dramatic” than that of Talitha, his daughter with Derena.
Talitha was born in October 2022. However, Derena went into labor eight weeks early due to preeclampsia.
