According to the New York Post, Max began her career in 2000 and climbed the ladder of success very quickly, appearing in numerous publications such as Alt, Maxim, Bizarre, and Playboy magazines.
Law enforcement officials were called in the morning in connection with Masoime's death. A GoFundMe fundraiser has been launched in honor of the deceased model. The purpose of the fundraiser is to cover Max's funeral and memorial expenses. In a fundraising leaflet, she was described as someone with “energy, charm and charisma”.

“Masuimi passed away unexpectedly on January 25, 2024. We are deeply shocked and overwhelmed by the passing of our dear friend. It is impossible to replace the beautiful, loving, talented, intelligent and artistic vision she was.”
He further added:
“She truly had the energy, charm and charisma that elevated her to the status of go-to model for a variety of brands, photographers and artists in the modeling, film and fashion industries.”
According to the fundraising post, the recipients of the funds are Max's husband, Murat, and her family so they can cover her funeral expenses. She has raised more than $8,000 of her goal of $80,000.
People exchange condolences and blessings
Many people have expressed their condolences following the tragic death of Maswemi Max. Her friend Ashleta Beauchamp shared a heartfelt post as a tribute to Max. She wrote in the post,
“I really hope you know how much it impacts women of color who are in subcultures that don't always welcome us.”
Beauchamp added:
“I'd never met anyone like her… She was a 'girl's girl' so she gave newbies opportunities and shared her wisdom about the industry. The way we reconnected felt so well-intentioned and genuine.”
American't Record, a record label run by her husband Masoimi Max and John Feeney, issued a statement speaking about the deceased model. The statement read,
“Yesterday we lost a pivotal member of our punk rock family. Masuimi passed away unexpectedly on January 25, 2024. We are deeply devastated and overwhelmed by the passing of our dear friend. It is impossible to replace what is beautiful, loving and talented. She was intelligent and an artistic visionary.”
