Pete Buttigieg, a small-town mayor turned transportation secretary, said he was “shocked by how controversial it was” when he talked about how “racist” highways are.
Buttigieg, one of the most incompetent people serving in Biden's Cabinet (and that's saying a lot), previously appeared on MSNBC's Politics Nation to discuss racist ways with host Al Sharpton.
Buttigieg told Al Sharpton that traffic deaths occur because of racism and discrimination.
“We have a crisis when it comes to road deaths in America,” Buttigieg said. “We lose about 40,000 people every year. It's a level comparable to gun violence — and we see a lot of racial disparities. Black and brown Americans, tribal citizens and rural residents are more likely to lose their lives…”
“There are a lot of reasons for discrimination… even in terms of the way the roads are designed and who has access to a safe street design that has crosswalks and good lighting,” Buttigieg continued.
The roads are racist according to Pete Buttigieg.
Now he is fooling people who doubted his ridiculous claims.
“I was shocked at how controversial it was when I pointed out the simple fact that a lot of black neighborhoods were being wiped out because of the way the freeways were built. And I didn't bring this up because I wanted everyone to feel bad about it,” Buttigieg said. “I brought it up because we can do something about it.”
