We're not even through the first month of the year, and 2024 has been nothing but a smooth ride.
It took 102 complaints over three years to put two “bad neighbors” in Brevard County, Florida, behind bars.
Fox 35 reports,
The Brevard County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday announced the arrest of two residents, James Williams Jr., 56, and Kaylyn LaColle Whitson, 31, on charges of aggravated stalking. Their arrest came after deputies tried a different approach to arrest them as they allegedly would not comply with law enforcement orders.
Deputies responded 102 times to complaints at Williams and Whitson's home, ranging from loud music to trespassing.
“Williams and Whitson continually and intentionally harassed their neighbors, and on several occasions, our team contacted them and requested voluntary compliance to put an end to the complaints,” the Brevard County Sheriff's Office said.
When the pair refused to comply voluntarily, they were placed on the Sheriff's “High Intensity Targets” list in order to “put an end to this insanity and harassment,” deputies said. An arrest warrant was obtained, and the “bad neighbors” were “cuffed and crammed” into a patrol car.
They were booked into the Brevard County Jail, but have since been released after posting $20,000 bail each.
As Sheriff Ivey said on social media, the moral of the story is not to be a “bad neighbor in Brevard County.”
Being called anywhere 100+ times to make complaints when there are real issues going on in the world is not a task most people can handle.
Thank God for the boys in blue.
