Journalist layoffs continue as liberal media collapses before our eyes Critic portal

Have you noticed that the liberal media is collapsing? Every week we hear about another media outlet laying off staff.

There are two different things that cause this. First, a growing percentage of the American people no longer trust the media because many journalists are merely Democratic Party operatives. Second, all the liberal media are saying the same thing, and thus competing with each other for a shrinking share of market share.

Do you think the people in our media class will learn something from this? Probably not.

    Axios reports:

Bloodbath in mainstream media: News outlets cut jobs as businesses suffer

Nearly a dozen major media companies are shedding staff and scrambling to save their struggling businesses…

News leadership: The Forbes newsroom union began a three-day strike on Thursday, arguing that management was union busting. Its CEO announced layoffs later that afternoon, amounting to approximately 3% of the company.

    • From the inside It announced that it would lay off 8% of its workforce, months after a union strike over the contract impasse with management.
    • New York Daily News The editorial union left its job on Thursday in protest against “chronic cutbacks” by its owner, private equity firm Alden Capital.
    • Basic CEO Bob Bakish warned employees Thursday that the company is planning a new round of layoffs.
    • Los Angeles Times It planned a one-day strike in multiple cities to protest plans to cut 115 jobs. Two senior editors have resigned, less than two weeks after executive editor Kevin Merida resigned.
    • Condé Nast Hundreds of unionized workers went on strike Tuesday to protest hundreds of previously announced layoffs affecting roughly 5% of employees, or nearly 300 people.
    • Sports Illustrated The newsroom was hit with widespread layoffs after its parent company, The Arena Group, failed to make a $3.75 million quarterly payment to the group from which it licenses the Sports Illustrated brand.

It is important to remember that all of this carnage is self-inflicted. The media did this to themselves. It's also worth noting that liberal journalists don't seem to care much when other Americans lose their jobs.
