You may soon need to throw on a jacket or two to stay warm in South Florida.
After Sunday's Miami Lifetime Marathon and a half, when high temperatures are expected to reach the lower 80s, a cold front is expected to bring chilly weather to Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach.
When will the cold front arrive? How long will the cold wave last?
Here's the latest update from the National Weather Service in Miami:
The front is scheduled to arrive in South Florida on Sunday evening, bringing with it below-average temperatures. But after a few days, it will start to warm up again.
Sunday:
Expect a mostly sunny day with lows in the 80s. Winds of 10 to 15 mph and gusts of up to 25 mph are expected.
Monday
The beginning of a cooling off period will be felt starting early Monday morning, with lows in the lower to mid 50s. In Palm Beach County, near Lake Okeechobee, temperatures are expected to reach lows in the 40s. It's expected to be a mostly sunny day with highs in the mid to upper 60s.
Tuesday
The coldest hours are expected early Tuesday morning, with lows in the low 50s. Near Lake Okeechobee, low temperatures are expected to reach the 40s.
But fresh to gusty northerly winds will make it even colder, with wind chills, or what the temperature feels like, dropping into the 40s across much of the region.
Highs on Tuesday are expected to be in the low 70s to upper 60s.
Wednesday
It is expected to reach the low 50s early Wednesday morning.
Although the weather is expected to be mostly sunny with highs in the 70s, below-average temperatures are expected to continue through Thursday.
