    what do you know

    • It's still gloomy outside on a Friday morning commute; We will dry out by midday, but clouds will continue into Saturday
    • Sunday brings wind and rain that may turn to snow from Sunday night into Monday morning. Up to 3 inches of rain is expected in areas north and west of the city, which likely won't see much at all
    • Once this system comes out, it will look more like January, with temperatures dropping into the 30s until at least the middle of next week; February begins with near-normal temperatures

Storm Team 4 is tracking the possibility of some snow early next week as temperatures drop to more normal levels for this time of year, although it looks like it may still be too warm to do much in the way of accumulation.

The next storm is moving very quickly, after a dismal few days. Rain is expected by late Saturday, and rain and strong winds are expected on Sunday. Some transition to snow is likely Sunday night as cold air moves into the back of the system.

Accumulation appears to be minimal near New York City, while areas north and west of I-287 could see more than 3 inches.

How much snow do we get?

New York City recorded the first one-inch snowfall in Central Park in almost two full years earlier this month. Could this coming weekend herald more to come? One thing seems certain at this point: It's going to be more like January.

Temperatures return to the 30s on Monday and are expected to remain there until at least the middle of next week.
