A painting by Gustav Klimt that is believed to have disappeared nearly a century ago was found in Vienna.
The painting, titled Portrait of Fraulein Lieser, is one of the world-famous artist's last works.
The painting was considered lost for about 100 years, until it reappeared in the private collection of an Austrian artist.
according to Austrian According to media reports, the artwork was last seen in public in 1925 and was previously known to experts only through a black-and-white photo.
Its whereabouts have remained a mystery ever since, until it was discovered on the wall of a nearby family villa Vienna.
The painting was owned by the Lesser family, who were wealthy Jewish industrialists in Vienna.
The Vienna auction house, Im Kinski, estimates the value of the painting at more than 50 million euros (42 million pounds sterling).
“The rediscovery of this image, one of Klimt's most beautiful and creative last paintings, is very exciting,” she said.
“His works, especially his portraits of successful upper-middle-class women at the turn of the century, enjoy the highest regard throughout the world.
“A painting of this rarity, artistic importance and value has not been available on the Central European art market for decades.”

The painting is scheduled to be sold at auction on April 24, before being displayed around the world, where it will be displayed in various locations including planned stops in Britain, Switzerland, Germany and Hong Kong.
