DENVER (KDVR) — Snow showers returned to the weather forecast in Denver Thursday night ahead of a colder Friday and a mild weekend.

    Weather tonight: snow showers

On Thursday evening, clouds will increase ahead of late snow showers. Temperatures will be cold, dropping into the upper 20s in the metro.

    Weather tomorrow: morning snow, colder

On Friday, snow showers will end by the afternoon. Denver will see less than an inch of snowfall in total from Thursday night into Friday.

The highest snowfall will be in southern Colorado. Because new snowfall could create hazardous travel conditions, winter weather advisories will remain in effect through Friday.

After the snow ends, conditions will remain cloudy and cooler with highs only reaching the 40s.

    Looking Ahead: Sunshine and warmth

Sunshine returns to the forecast in time for the weekend. Saturday temperatures will be near seasonal, with early morning lows in the 20s before reaching the 40s.

A warming trend begins Sunday with highs climbing into the mid 50s. Highs in the 60s return to the forecast along with more sunshine by the middle of the next work week.
