DENVER (KDVR) — A chance of snow returns to the weather forecast in Denver Thursday night into Friday. This will be followed by sunshine and a warming trend by the end of the week.

    Tonight's weather: partly cloudy, cool

Wednesday night, Denver will be under partly cloudy skies. Temperatures will drop slightly and fall to the mid-twenties, becoming about 5 degrees higher than their average for this time of year.

    Tomorrow's weather: increasing clouds

Thursday will start with sunshine. Clouds will increase in the afternoon as temperatures rise to nearly 50 degrees. Increasing clouds will be followed by snowfall late Thursday night.

Looking Ahead: Snow Friday morning, then a warm trend

On Friday, snow showers will begin to wind down into the morning.

In the mountains, snowfall totals will reach 1-5 inches widespread, with areas in southwest Colorado closer to 10 inches. Metro Denver will pick up an inch or less from this system.

Sunshine and a warming trend return to the forecast in time for the weekend. High temperatures will be seasonal on Saturday, reaching the upper 40s.

The warm-up continues Sunday with highs in the mid-50s, then around 60 degrees for the first half of the work week.
