The Democratic Socialists of America, one of AOC's favorite political organizations, is facing a serious financial crisis and may have to lay people off their jobs.
Who knew socialists would have such difficulty managing money? Looks like they've finally run out of other people's money.
Naturally, this could have something to do with the crazy pro-Hamas demonstrations in which many of its members have participated in recent months.
The New York Post reports:
The Social Democrats are facing a seven-figure “crisis” amid Palestinian support that could lead to frightening layoffs
The Democratic Socialists of America are in the red all over the place, with a financial situation so dire that some leaders are calling for job cuts and layoffs just like an American business entity, The Washington Post has learned.
The DSA — which has led protests against Israel over the Jewish state's retaliation for the Oct. 7 Hamas terror attack — is in a deep hole and desperately needs a way to stop the red ink, members admit.
“We will cut $500,000 in personnel-related expenses. We will first ask for volunteers from both director level and bargaining unit staff to reduce their positions and receive their bonuses, according to a proposal put forward by members of the DSA National Political Committee associated with the Marxist Bread and Roses caucus.
“If necessary, we will next explore initiating layoffs in accordance with the DSA union contract,” DSA officers said.
The situation appears to be one of an organization blindly seeking utopia and declaring its support for the working class bumping into reality – forcing it to balance the budget like the rest of America and even contemplate layoffs that the labor unions hate.
More from Fox News:
“DSA is in a financial crisis and staff-related costs represent 58% of our total expenses and 72% of our projected income,” DSA members Alex Pelletieri, Kristen Schaal and Laura Wadlin wrote in the proposal.
“The current deficit will force us to make 7-figure budget cuts. This will require us to make painful decisions that will impact all levels of the organization. Given our current financial situation, we do not believe we can have a healthy, democratic, and effective organization while spending the amount we currently spend on staff.” They added.
Stupid organizations fail and that's a very good thing.
