Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) shared some advice he received from the late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia that he believes will be relevant to the recent ruling against Texas trying to prevent illegal immigrants from crossing the border.

On Monday, the Supreme Court approved, by a vote of 5 to 4, an emergency request filed by the Joe Biden administration arguing that Texas is preventing federal agents from carrying out their duties. The ruling allows federal agents to cut or remove razor wire installed on the southern border.

Justice Amy Coney Barrett and Chief Justice John Roberts sided with the liberal wing of the court on this matter. Barrett, a Trump appointee, is a surprising find, while Roberts, who has made a career out of abandoning his principles and deliberately voting with the court's liberal wing as a means of conveying an image of justice, is not.

According to Massey, over breakfast at the Capitol Hill Club, Justice Scalia once told a group of lawmakers that there was a way Congress could fix things they didn't like using the power of the wallet.

“You know who could fix this — literally overrule the Supreme Court and the White House on the Texas vs. Biden dispute?” Massey wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. “Congress.”

He continued: “In fact, this was explained to a group of us by Justice Scalia during breakfast at the Capitol Hill Club.” “We've been asked to stop funding things we don't like.”

    Congress

In fact, this was explained to a group of us by Justice Scalia over breakfast at the Capitol Hill Club.

Tell us to stop funding things we don't like. https://t.co/ek0kDGq4TD

Massie urges Congress to “fix” Supreme Court ruling v. Texas, cites Justice Scalia

This advice from Massey and Scalia, a conservative legal icon, highlights the importance of Congress exercising its fiscal power to control the actions of the executive branch.

By choosing not to fund certain initiatives or programs, Congress can effectively prevent the government from pursuing policies that are inconsistent with the will of the people.

Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) responded to Massie's post by pointing out that they were advising their Republican colleagues the same way to shape the direction of the country, adding: “1,000 times that.”

Massie, in response to an X user who seemed shocked that he shared breakfast with Scalia, revealed that several members of Congress were with him.

“It was a great honor,” he replied. There were about 12 to 18 members of Congress there. He basically told them to stop complaining and start defunding.

Yes. It was a great honor. There were about 12 to 18 members of Congress there. He basically told them to stop complaining and start defunding. very funny.

    Roberts' shameful legacy

It's difficult to ascertain what Barrett was thinking in her ruling, as none of the justices offered an explanation for their 5-4 vote.

But as long as Roberts continues to serve as chief justice, the things conservatives believe will go their way regarding the national court will always remain somewhat weak. Do you think the 14th Amendment arguments are an automatic win for Trump? Think again.

The deciding vote in the Supreme Court's ruling against Texas was cast by Justice Roberts.

SCOTUS legitimized the invasion of Texas, with a weak John Roberts casting a deciding vote with the court's liberal members (stunningly abetted by Amy Coney Barrett).

One of the first priorities of the next administration must be securing the president's retirement…

    – D.S. Dexter Tarbox Jr. (@DSDexterTarbox) January 22, 2024

Roberts' sole goal since his appointment by President George W. Bush has been to create a legacy of a court not guided by law, but influenced by public perception. It wants you to believe the court is fair and to deliberately rule against correct legal interpretations in order to side with the left to create that false image.

In June of 2020, Roberts cast the deciding vote, joining the court's liberal justices in a 5-4 decision ruling against the Trump administration's attempt to end the DACA program, even though it had been implemented illegally.

That same year, he sided with the court's liberal justices when they ruled in favor of coronavirus restrictions on religious services in California. He ruled alongside liberals again in a ruling that struck down Louisiana's abortion safety law.

There are so many other instances in which Roberts has abandoned the rule of law to put his lot on the left's side just to appear neutral that it would be impossible to document them in a single column.

So it's unanimous: everyone in power, from the White House, to the hedge fund managers, to the US Supreme Court, have decided to destroy the country by allowing it to be invaded. This leaves residents to fend for themselves. Where are the Texas men? why not…

    – Tucker Carlson (@TuckerCarlson) January 23, 2024

The Biden administration has spent more time, effort and resources trying to do just that It is forbidden Countries are better able to protect their borders than they are now protection The Americans are constantly invading.

The administration has been actively engaged in legal action against states such as Texas and Arizona, which were implementing their own border security measures. You may remember that Arizona created a temporary border wall out of shipping containers. The White House took them to court and forced them to tear down the wall.

Now the barbed wire will be removed. It's like a prison trying to find ways to keep prisoners within its borders only to have the administration force them to remove the walls and barbed wire, effectively freeing all the criminals.

These lawsuits aim to prevent these states from taking unilateral actions that the Biden administration believes are illegal and inconsistent with federal immigration policies.

The Supreme Court has just given them a major victory.
