These are the players you should consider buying, keeping and selling in your SuperCoach NBL squad for Round 17.
He sells
Weekly sales: Tahjere McCall (CRN) $406,500 GRD/FWD
It's not often we highlight the sales of the week to say thank you, but McCall may be the NBL SuperCoach Player of the Year this season. He missed the first part of the season due to injury and the birth of his child. Coming back a minute later, he became a fantastic value pick for us as Cairns continued his double runs. During that period since he scored 36 SuperCoach points against a powerful JackJumpers team, he has averaged 37.4 SuperCoach points. So after saying ta, it's time to say ta ta to Tahj, as the Taipans only have one match rounds for the rest of the season. Since McCall is a two-position player, you should be able to move him to a group of quality players with good schedules for the rest of the year.
Other players to consider selling
Cairns Taipans and Brisbane Bullets players
As mentioned earlier, the Taipan only has one more match left. The same goes for fellow Queensland club Brisbane Bullets. Get out of Cairns and dodge the bullets from now on.
Watch the injured player
There were plenty of players who dealt with injuries in the last round who were involved in a double round this week including DJ Hogg (SYD), Alex Sarr (PER) and possibly Gary Clark. Keep an eye on injury updates for these players and consider trading if necessary.
Benny breaks the tie
Each week, Penny will list some of the notable breakeven points for the coming week – players with low breakeven points are set to rise in prices while high breakeven points indicate an impending price drop. Contract of the Week: Justin Robinson (ILL) $257,400
After averaging over 26 SuperCoach points per game over his last 7 games, Justin Robinson's owners will already be feeling robbed after a 19 SuperCoach point performance in Round 16. His grades of 10 and 9 are his lowest grades of the season and will have owners concerned that perhaps we will see another stretch of Poor form for Robinson who averaged just 16 in 5 matches earlier in the year. The reason to keep Robinson is because the Hawks have the best even-caliber schedule in the league for the remainder of the season. You only have to worry about losing its value if you plan to sell it. Ideally, Robinson can be moved to your bench where other point guard candidates are available. There are a lot of guard options in this round. The 36ers and Tasmania have guard options in the next round; Then, similarly priced guards have questions of their own. You can hold Robinson.
Other players to consider a contract:
Adelaide 36ers
Adelaide are one of only two teams with a round-robin next week. You must do everything you can to keep them through their individual game round this week. The exception could be Jacob Wiley if we find out that his heel injury will take a long time to heal.
Banksy deals
Each week Banksy will be ranking his favorite cheap players (under 200k) regardless of schedule.
1. Gorjok Gak (SEM) $135,100 FWD/CTR
Gorjok has been traded heavily this week following news that Alan Williams will be out for the rest of the season. As expected, Gak saw an increase in 22 and 26 minute play opportunities in the two SEM matches in Round 16. Resulting in Gak earning 44 SuperCoach points, he will head into Round 17 with 7 tied. At just 11 points, Gak is an excellent return with Phoenix Heading into another double play round.
2. Kieren Galloway (ADL) $154,400 FWD
Galloway has seen a significant rise in minutes over his last four games with Adelaide. After playing just 13 minutes per game over his previous 12 games, he has now played 29.5 minutes per game over his last 4 games. Although Adelaide have one game to play this week, you may want to consider grabbing Keirin while he is priced at 13 minutes. SuperCoach points, after finishing fourth in total points last round, and finishing with 66 points in the two matches. Adelaide have an important double next week, as they are one of only two teams besides the JackJumpers to have a double. Keep an eye on Jacob Wiley's health.
3. Will McDowell White (New Zealand) $188,900 total
After five games that resulted in minutes played in the teens, Will finally saw a slow rise in minutes with 22, 23, and 23 minutes played over his last 3 minutes. He saw more time on the court than Parker Jackson-Cartwright against Phoenix which resulted in 32 minutes. SuperCoach points thanks to 13 points and 7 assists. A great trade target at his current price, with the Breakers set to hit a triple-double over the remaining four rounds.
4. Mantas Rubstavicius (New Zealand) $170,000 FWD
Despite the recent return of key personnel on the Breakers, the Mantas are still rewarded with plenty of court time. Averaging 18 SuperCoach points while playing 23 minutes per game over his last 10 games, Rubstavicius has a match schedule with three doubles over the last four rounds. There is another option to take advantage of your seat without compromising points on the home stretch.
5. Nick Marshall (ADL) $107,200 FWD
Marshall continues to be rewarded with a starting role and has now played double-digit minutes in each of his last 11 games. Nick has provided the owners with some consistency over his last three starts with SuperCoach results of 15, 14 and a season high of 25 in the last outing. With Adelaide prices on the rise, Nick is a great option to downgrade your seat at just 9 SuperCoach points to complete the season.
He buys
Buy of the Week: Anthony Lamb (NZ) $395,900
The Breakers now have the best equal schedule (shared with the Hawks) to finish the season with doubles in round 17, 19 and 20. This means at least one of their premium options will be closed for the rest of the SuperCoach season; We think your best choice here is Anthony Lamb. Lamb is averaging 34.3 SuperCoach points for the season although he is averaging 37.5 SuperCoach points over his last 6 games, and that includes that low 19-point score against Sydney in Round 15. Lamb will be very popular this week on Although it is a little on the expensive side. We hope you can pair it with Bryce in what we call the Cotton and Wool Collection.
Boydie's Best Buys
Each week, Boydie will rank other top buys for the coming week.
1. Parker Jackson Cartwright (New Zealand) $348,300 total
The 40 SuperCoach round of 16 has just started, and thanks to Breakers, PJC should factor into your buy-in accounts this week if you can get him. PJC is averaging 34.5 SuperCoach points for the year, second highest for a point guard behind Cotton.
2. Bryce Cotton (per) $464,800 total
Bryce is cute, but Bryce's weakness (his captain) is even cuter. Karim rose to the top and that was certainly the case with Cotton in Round 16, 91 SuperCoach points for the Perth double, about 15 SuperCoach points higher for the round than the next best in Trey Kell. Cotton is the player with the most ownership and that won't change as Perth enter another double round. Fade him at your peril!
3. Sam Froling (ILL) $366,600 FWD/CTR
The Hawk's ride home is very SuperCoach friendly as we discussed at length; And Sam Froling is the best choice in Central to take this train home. Froling earned 69 SuperCoach points for Round 16 and is averaging 30.4 SuperCoach points for the season, but 36.2 over his last 5 games. Another thing that should not fade!
4. Tyler Harvey (ILL) $292,900 total
Although his season average is not enticing at 22.5 SuperCoach points, Harvey has found some form recently as he averages 32.5 SuperCoach points over his last 4 games after taking a 61-point double over the Hawks in Round 16. His price has risen over the couple The last two. weeks now so it's not as cheap as it was but it's a lot cheaper than Cotton/PJC/Jaylen Adams for double this week if you're a little low on funds
5. Zilan Cheatham (New Zealand) $245,700
Cheatham has averaged 24 SuperCoach points since returning to his full minutes quota over the last 4 games. We think 24 is his floor; He has proven his ability to reach the ceiling both on the field and from a SuperCoach perspective. Great schedule during the finals, if you want to beat them, get Cheatham.
6. Ty Webster (per) $225,700 total
Yes, you read that correctly, Tai Webster is our fifth buy option for the week. Although his season average of 17.3 SuperCoach is not good, Tai has averaged 32 SuperCoach points per game in his last 4 games. Minor red flag here Before that round of 4 games he actually had zero, but Tai seems to have turned the corner recently and with a brace for Perth in both this upcoming round and round 20, he is a good priced buyout option at keeper.
7. Gorjok Gak (SEM) $134,500 CTR/FWD
With Alan 'Big Sauce' Williams out for the rest of the season, minutes were up for grabs for Gorjok and he did not disappoint his side in Round 16 with 44 SuperCoach points, well above the SuperCoach average of 11.8 during his injury-interrupted season. A great downgrade option to spend some money elsewhere for the SuperCoach Finals rounds.
8. Jordan Asher (PER) $215,900
Is Usher another Perth player who has found his groove to get through the year? 61 SuperCoach points for the Perth Round of 16 Double and another double for the Round of 17 make it a decent option if you're short on cash for a premium option.
9. Mitch Creek (SEM) $387,600
10. Jaylen Adams (SYD) $352,800 total
11. Will McDowell White (New Zealand) $188,900 total
