DENVER (KDVR) — Tuesday weather temperatures in Denver reached above-normal readings again. Thursday into Friday, a storm system will move into southern Colorado and drop temperatures to levels closer to seasonal averages.

According to Pinpoint Weather, Colorado's most accurate forecast, there will be accumulating snow in the Colorado mountains with a few flurries passing along the Front Range and into metro Denver early Friday.

Snow totals expected from early Thursday through late Friday across Colorado

Weather tonight: partly cloudy and cold

Skies will be mostly cloudy overnight with some light snow falling early in the Colorado mountains. The winds are generally light, southerly.

Expected lows will be below freezing across the state. The coldest temperatures will be in the low twenties expected in some mountain valley towns.

Cold lows overnight by Wednesday morning across Colorado

    Weather tomorrow: Another mild day

There will be dense fog across the Far East Plains again early Wednesday, bringing another cold day near the Nebraska-Kansas border.

Looking Ahead: A few gusts then light again

A few flurries will drift out of the mountains late Thursday night (around midnight) into early Friday toward metro Denver. At this time, no accumulation is expected in the city or in most places along the Front Range. There may be some light grassy accumulations east of the metro in some locations.

Overall, the best snow accumulation remains in the Colorado mountains Thursday through Friday, with the southern mountains seeing the deepest totals of 5-6 inches.
