Safety Micah Hyde has been a staple of the Bills' defense since 2017, but his career with the team may be coming to an end.

Hyde is out of contract and the veteran said on Monday he was not sure he would play for anyone after he turns 34 next month. Hyde has dealt with neck injuries and told reporters it has been a “battle every week to get back on that field on Sunday.”

Hyde said he was “glad I was able to continue on this run with the boys and at least try to finish it right” and that he would take some time to consider his options before making any decisions about next season.

“all A year when you lose“You wake up the next day and feel a lot of frustration because you weren't able to get the job done,” Hyde said, via Mark Gaughan of Buffalo News. “I woke up this morning and said, ‘Wow, that was a run. This has been an amazing run that we have continued. I am forever grateful to this team, and the hard work and resilience this team has shown. I have no idea what the future holds now. I'll sit down, maybe in a few weeks or something, and talk to my wife and talk to the family. But we'll see. “I'm in no hurry, I'm not in any rush at all.”

Hyde was a second-team All-Pro selection twice during his time in Buffalo and his departure will bring a huge change to the back end of the Bills defense in 2024.
