Exactly nine years ago today, El Paso was covered in snow. Does any city look better than El Choco with snow on the mountains? Thanks to Weather Watch Ben Avalos for sending in this beautiful photo and snow reminder. Where is the snow this year? Well, the mountains of New Mexico are in good shape, but here we miss the white stuff. We don't have a chance for the next nine days, but February is coming with great chances for winter storms.

Night: The sky becomes partly cloudy at night, with rain falling at midnight. West winds range from 5 to 15 miles per hour and are cold at times. The bottom will drop to 45.

Forecast: Weather Service Alert: KTSM has issued a Weather Service Alert for Tuesday for rain that could be heavy at times during the day. A strong but slow-moving low pressure system will move over the Borderland bringing light to heavy rain on and off for most of the day. High temperature 53*, southwest wind 10 to 20 mph. On Wednesday, the weather will be partly cloudy to partly cloudy, with rain and light rain continuing. The high temperature on Wednesday will be 56 degrees, with southwest winds ranging from 10 to 25 mph. Thursday will be partly cloudy and 59 degrees. Friday will be partly cloudy to mostly sunny with moderate winds and a high around 60 degrees. Saturday will be sunny and 62 degrees.
