The Boca Raton, Florida community is mourning the loss of Officer Loren Kress. She was 44 years old at the time of her death. Many have since taken to the internet to honor the veteran police officer who died of cancer.
On January 20, the Boca Raton Police X page shared a photo of Chris and revealed that she had sadly passed away. They revealed that she died of cancer the day before while surrounded by her family and loved ones.
They also noted that she has worked with the police department for the past 20 years as an instructor in the Boca Raton Police Training Unit and was also a member of the Boca Raton Police Honor Guard for many years.
They revealed that one of her duties is to train officers and help them handle the equipment safely.
Speaking about the character of Lauren Criss, they said:
“Lauren’s bright, bold personality positively impacted everyone she interacted with. She was fiercely loyal to the people and things she loved, and her unwavering passion for law enforcement was evident throughout her career. We will miss Lauren every day at the department, but we take comfort in knowing we have a guardian angel.” A warrior searching for us.

In March 2022, Patty Vasquez-Bello created a GoFundMe page titled “Help Our Hero Fight Her Fight.” She revealed that Loren Criss was battling ovarian cancer and that all money raised through the online fundraiser would cover her “medical bills, meals, and all the other burdens that this diagnosis can bring.”
