It's as if all this destruction was intentional.

What a weak and unhelpful response by the State Department.

Some may also see significance in Benny Ganz's 2019 election video as a promise

    What about the West Bank?

Well: The Economist warned back in October 2023

FFor months, fears have been growing in Israel and among foreign governments about the escalation of violence in the West Bank. It is the area that Palestinians view as the core of a potential state, which the Israeli government has occupied for decades and oversees in coordination with the Palestinian Authority, the closest thing to a local Arab administration. It was thought that the increasing brutality shown towards Palestinians by Israelis living in settlements in the West Bank might spark an uprising, or uprising.

Haaretz warns in its editorial dated January 17, 2024

Israeli settler government fuels West Bank bombing

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would rather endanger Israel than his government, which relies on the far-right's desire for annexation, Jewish supremacy, and war. This is the only conclusion that can be reached from his criminal disregard for repeated warnings issued by the Israeli army and the Shin Bet security service.

For years, Netanyahu has supported Hamas. And now it's exploded in our faces

For years, various governments led by Benjamin Netanyahu have pursued an approach that has divided power between the Gaza Strip and the West Bank — bringing Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to his knees as he makes moves in support of Hamas.

The idea was to prevent Abbas – or anyone else in the Palestinian Authority government in the West Bank – from progressing toward establishing a Palestinian state.

Thus, in the midst of these attempts to weaken Abbas, Hamas was promoted from a mere terrorist group to an organization with which Israel conducted indirect negotiations through Egypt, and an organization that was allowed to receive cash payments from abroad.

It doesn't take a trip to the Tin-Foil Hatters supply store I wonder if:

This was the plan all along.

    just an idea
