Castaways Theater, a non-profit community theater organization, seeks input from audiences, actors and directors to shape its future productions. New artistic director, Harry Kantrovic, is taking steps to gauge preferences and diversify the theater's offerings.
To expand and diversify its audience, Castaways Theater has begun a survey to gather community input on the types of plays they would like to see in future productions. The goal is to ensure that theater caters to diverse preferences.
Recent productions, including the theatrical adaptation of the award-winning 1985 documentary “SHOAH” and the upcoming performance of “Heathers,” highlight Castaways Theater’s commitment to providing diverse theatrical experiences.
“SHOAH,” an abridged version of the original 9-hour film, delves into the brutality of the “Final Solution” during the years of World War II (1942-1944). The theater hosted shows at the AJ Ferlazzo Building in Woodbridge, Virginia.
Castaways Theater is comprised of individuals who contribute their time and effort to bringing quality live theater to the community. Castaways Theater is affiliated with the Prince William Arts Council, the Prince William Chamber of Commerce, NVTA (formerly the Northern Virginia Theater Alliance), and WATCH (Washington Area Theater Community Honors). Partial funding for their endeavors was provided by Prince William County.
