DENVER (KDVR) — While conditions are expected to be warmer Saturday than they were Friday, temperatures will still be below average with highs only in the upper 30s.
Scattered light snow showers will also fall in the country's highlands on Saturday and Sunday.
Today's weather: Partly cloudy and cold
Saturday will see mostly cloudy and cool conditions, and a lack of sunshine will ensure temperatures stay below average in the metro area. Temperatures will be very mild in the mountains with highs in the 40s. Meanwhile, there will be some areas along the far eastern Plains that won't warm above freezing.
Weather tonight: The clouds will recede and it will be cold
It will start out cloudy into the evening and then gradually become partly cloudy as low temperatures drop into the upper teens and lower 20s. There will be some cooler areas, especially along the plains with temperatures falling to average to lower.
Looking Ahead: Warmer days with possible flurries
After Saturday, there will be more sunshine and mild temperatures to look forward to. Highs on Sunday will be in the lower 50s with plenty of sunshine on the way. Temperatures remain in the upper 40s toward 50 degrees ahead of a generally mild week.
The Pinpoint Weather team is monitoring a southerly storm later in the week that could push some gusts north toward the Denver metro area. As of Saturday, the chance is very low.
