Hackers hit cryptocurrency exchange giant HTX with a distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack on Friday morning, causing a brief outage of service.

A DDoS attack is a malicious attempt by bad actors to flood a targeted website with traffic to overwhelm the site's infrastructure.

HTX is the newly rebranded name of Huobi. TRON (TRX) founder Justin Sun, who says he is an “advisor” to the exchange, Announce Breakout early Friday morning. Encryption pole male After a few minutes, services were restored and all user funds were safe.

The attack represents the latest in a series of incidents involving HTX. In September, hackers exploited the exchange for approximately 4,999 ether (ETH) worth $7.9 million, according to the blockchain security firm. Peak Shield.

In November, hackers hit two Sun-related protocols, HTX and Heco Bridge, a bridge used to move funds between Ethereum and the energy-efficient Heco Chain, for $100 million, according to cybersecurity firm Cyvers.

The sun too Recently shared Tron's response came after the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) said in a report earlier this month that it represents the blockchain of choice for money launderers and fraudsters in East and Southeast Asia.

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime says criminals in the region prefer to use the top stablecoin USDT on the Tron blockchain due to the stability of the pool, ease of anonymity, and low transaction fees.

Tron claims the report is inaccurate.

“Tron actively collaborates with leading on-chain forensic partners to share information related to transactions on the blockchain which plays a vital role in the broader industry. Tron Network is proud to remain at the forefront of the blockchain industry, a technology that is decentralized by design used for good.

However, as a decentralized technology, TRON cannot comment on the actions of independent third parties, including Tether. Tron fully supports the United Nations' stance against malicious actors in the blockchain space. However, it is fundamentally wrong to assert that TRON, Ethereum, or similar decentralized protocols may exert direct control over those who benefit from this open source technology.
