(WJW) – A winter storm moved in overnight with much of northeast Ohio waking up to a few inches of snow on the ground. Below are the latest amounts as of 11 a.m

Temperatures will be in the mid-twenties and winds will be light. The snow is expected to continue throughout the day.
A winter storm warning is now in effect until 10 PM Saturday for counties in the main snow belt (Ashtabula, Geauga, and Lake.) where up to a foot of snow is possible. The rest of the counties shown in red (Cuyahoga, Erie, Huron, Lorain, Medina, and Summit) are under a storm warning until 4 a.m. Saturday with another 3 to 6 inches expected.
Additionally, a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for several other counties with 2-6 inches of snow likely. For Ashland, Crawford, Holmes, Ottawa, Richland, Sandusky and Wayne counties, this advisory will continue until 7 p.m. Friday. For Carroll, Coshocton, Mahoning, Portage, Stark, Trumbull, and Tuscarawas counties, a winter weather warning will be in effect. until 10 a.m. Saturday.

Here are the details of snowfall on Friday:
- The snow continues throughout the day and accumulates slowly
- Most areas have an additional 3-6 inches today. Less than 4″ south of Akron/Canton
- The snow will be dense Moderate/heaviest midday/stronger range
- A gradual shift to lake effect on Friday late afternoon/evening with northerly winds
- Additional accumulations on Friday evening/more local night as teams continue
- The intermittent lake effect will continue until midday Saturday

Total snowfall from Friday morning through early Saturday afternoon
A wind chill warning may be issued for counties west of Cleveland on Saturday. Fox 8 will update you if and when that happens.

Additional lake effect snow will continue through Saturday. Heavier in spots with breaks in sun.
