Hunter Biden agreed to appear before Republican-led committees for closed-door testimony on February 28 after Republican lawmakers threatened to hold him in contempt of Congress for defying the subpoena.
“Hunter Biden will appear before our committees to testify on February 28, 2024. His testimony will come after several interviews with Biden family members and associates. “We look forward to Hunter Biden’s testimony,” Chairman Coomer and Jordan said in a joint statement Thursday.
“As part of the impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden, the Committees on Oversight and Judiciary will conduct written interviews with several members of Biden’s family and associates in the coming weeks.” The House Oversight Committee said. “The committees continue to work with James Biden’s attorneys to schedule his appearance.”
Biden crime family whistleblower Tony Bobulinski will appear before the committees for a written interview the week of February 5.

Republicans in Congress had previously summoned Hunter Biden to provide a closed statement related to the exploitation of his influence and family corruption.
Hunter defied the subpoena and said he would only testify “at a public hearing,” so lawmakers held a hearing before voting to hold him in contempt of court.
Last week, Hunter made a surprise appearance on Capitol Hill, where lawmakers held a hearing before voting on whether to hold the first son in contempt of court. Later that day, Republicans voted in favor of the contempt of court resolution.
The committee voted along party lines 23-14 to approve the resolution after Hunter Biden defied a subpoena and refused to testify in closed session.
House Republicans stalled the contempt resolution over the weekend while Hunter's lawyers negotiated new terms.
Hunter's testimony was scheduled after written interviews with several Biden family members and associates.
