Neil Mescal has announced her first album, Can I miss it for a minute?, which arrives May 3 via LAB Records. Along with the announcement, Mescal shared the new song “Killing Time,” which she says she “wrote about looking at a relationship and wondering if the other person is equally invested or just killing time.” Check it out below.

“Can I miss it for a minute? Mescal explained in a statement that it is a concept EP written about growing up, moving away, the breakup of a friendship, and trying to navigate current emotions and negative memories. “Every song tells part of the same story with a beginning, middle and end. Some of the songs are written in the moment and some are written in retrospect. It's about my life and how I deal with the experiences that shaped me. Most importantly I think it's about moving on from the things that were controlling me in the previous.
